We work with you to design a treatment plan tailored specifically to your dental needs and your financial situation. We will take care of your general dental needs, from simply replacing worn or leaky amalgam fillings, endodontic procedures or replacing missing teeth, as well as comprehensive neuromuscular dentistry.

Implants

Dental implants are today’s best alternative to natural teeth. Dental implants are now recognised as routine treatment for a full range of problems from replacing a single tooth, to full mouth rehabilitation, or simply for reliable denture retention.

An implant is, essentially, a sophisticated titanium screw which is placed into the jaw bone to replace the root of a natural tooth. The implant fuses with the jaw bone to form a secure foundation for tooth replacement. The end result… Replacement teeth that look, feel and function just like natural teeth.

All-On-4

All-On-4 is the replacement of all of the teeth in your top or bottom jaw with four to six implants that support your new teeth. Like your own teeth, the new teeth cannot be removed by you. They look good, feel good and function like your own teeth. Nobody need ever know that they are not your own real teeth and you get to eat whatever you want to, rather than whatever you can.

Unlike older implant methods involving protracted treatment, most of us can have fixed replacement teeth supported by only 4 implants …in just 2-3 days!

Experience Matters!

Dr Matthew Littleton has been involved in implant surgery since 1988 and has been at the forefront of innovative implant dentistry since 2007. His Rockhampton practice was one of the first in Australia with CBCT and guided implant placement technology on site. The revolutionary All On 4TM procedure is the most recent inclusion to our procedures that allows a cost effective and reliable replacement of missing teeth. Guided by one of Australia’s leading implant dentists, Dr Alex Fibishenko, and with many years experience in implant surgery, from the initial CBCT x-rays, to treatment under general anaesthetic, to on-the-spot fine tuning of your teeth in our implant laboratory, our all-encompassing dental centre is designed to facilitate a truly streamlined process for many of those who have lost or are about to lose their teeth.

The Syncone Concept

An alternative to the All-On-4 approach that appeals to many people is the Syncone Concept. Syncone is a system that allows you to replace your missing teeth with removable dentures that look good, feel good and function incredibly well but with a substantially simpler surgical procedure than All-On-4. When using the Syncone Concept we use a computer aided placement technique that ensures that the implants are placed in the exactly ideal position. This technique also minimizes any discomfort after the placement of the implants. It isn’t rare for people to be surprised to find that they had four or more implants placed and they only needed a Panadol for pain relief.

Many people also appreciate the ability to stage treatment over a period of time which the Syncone system can allow. It is occasionally even possible to adapt your current removable dentures for a time to further spread the cost of treatment if this is important to you.

^ Subject to suitability. All dental and surgical procedures carry risks. Before proceeding you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner. All On 4 Plus ® is a registered trademark of CAID. Syncone is a registered trademark of Dentsply Implants.

Neuromuscular Dentures

For those people for whom implants are not an option for whatever reason there is still no need to suffer from the effects of poorly fitting, marginally functional and unpleasant looking dentures.

Traditional dentures are fabricated using the “best guess” technique of where to position the teeth and jaws. Sometimes people are able to accommodate to the arbitrarily chosen position and the dentures are deemed to be satisfactory. Other people are exquisitely sensitive to an anomalous bite position and are never able to adapt. These are the people who continue to suffer.

Neuromuscular dentures are very different. When the bite is developed using neuromuscular techniques, the bite position is chosen based on an understanding of where your own teeth would have been positioned to allow optimal health of the jaw joints and jaw muscles. This is done using computerized jaw tracking and a real time display of muscle activity so that the position of the bite is known to be physiologically and anatomically correct. Similarly, the shape of the borders of the dentures are anatomically determined by the use of ultra-low frequency TENS. With an anatomically and physiologically optimal foundation for your dentures, we are then able to apply all the skills we use with natural teeth to give your dentures an aesthetic appeal that is unsurpassed. Every detail of tooth placement, size, shape, proportion, inclination, colour and contour is considered to give you dentures that will enable you to speak, eat and smile with complete comfort and confidence.
